My design skills include W3C standards compliant XHTML, CSS, Photoshop, Dreamweaver along with Ajax/Javascript and Flash implementation.
My aim is to create affordable, high-quality custom websites. I do not work from 'templates', each site I design is unique and tailor-made for each client.

Wisdom4Health Acupuncture & TCM (2010)
Website Redesign/Wordpress Theme/Logo & Flyer Design

This is an informational site for a private acupuncture and traditional chinese medicine practicioner. They requested a blog like feature that would facilitate a 'newsletter' function on site and also a CMS to allow for updating site content.
The client requested a simple text based logo and stock photography was used to minimise cost to the project.

The client was an individual seeking an original and dynamic website that would not detract from the requested simplicity of the overall look/feel of the design.
This is a three sectioned single page website with each navigation header revealing the additional content 'hidden' on the main page.
The artwork was created within photoshop, using photographs provided to construct the main image. An integrated contact form is also featured on site.

North Dublin Orthopaedic Animal Hospital (2010)

This is an extensive informational site about orthopaedic surgery for animals. The client was finding the existing CMS difficult to use and time consuming as was looking for an overhaul of the appearance of the site and also a more user friendly CMS for updating the content of the site.
Using Wordpress as the foundation, I constructed intricate navigation using a CSS based suckerfish-style menu. Additional plugins were used to create the in-site contact and referral forms and Google Map function.
The Wordpress bogging function was also ultilised to allow the client to document previous patient cases.
HRS Consulting (2009)

This site was designed to focus on the 'Corporate Education' aspect of this clients business. As a CMS and Blogging function was required, it made the most logical sense to create this website using Wordpress.
The colour scheme was developed from the existing company logo and the images used were stock photography to minimise cost and time for the client and relevant alterations were made to the design of the 'blog' section of this website to maximise functionality and usability.

XHTML/CSS based website for family run Dancewear business. The site design was built around their existing logo and colour scheme at the clients request and created using custom-built Dreamweaver templates to manage the product listings on site.
Panic Suite - Band (2010)

Requirement was for a clean, innovative representation of a new cover band based in Dublin. Logo artwork was supplied and the colour scheme was developed from there.
The site features animated navigation menus and a javascript 'sliding panel' feature to allow for additional information to be displayed within the constraints of the fixed layout. The site also features a lightbox style media gallery and integrated online contact form.
Malahide Veterinary Clinic (2010)

This was a new website for a small animal veterinary practice. A CMS system was required so I developed the website using Wordpress, utilizing the blogging function to manage a section where staff could update clients on patient cases and also to publish 'patient' testimonials.
Site includes an online 'contact' form for contacting the surgery directly and a integrated Google Map to provide directions to the surgery.

Client requested a basic starter site with room for future development for a new international venture to bring local and international businesses together.
As a CMS was required, Wordpress was the ideal solution given time and budget constraints from the client.

Client was a young, family run, South African based flooring company looking to establish a basic web presence to showcase their work and services online. I was provided with an extensive selection of photographs of their work and upon consultation with the client decided that a picture style layout would be a suitable design option.
The logo was created with the earthy tones and textured nature of the flooring products in mind, and the text option was selected by the client.

National Security Academy of Ireland (2008)

XHTML/CSS Fixed Layout Design
This site was for a new security training academy. Client requested a bright green/white/gold colour scheme, a calendar function & CMS to update a 'News' page.
On a tight budget we opted for an itegrated Google Calendar & discussed Wordpress or similar as a CMS. On review the client was most comfortable with the Cushy CMS solution.
The logo was originally briefed to include a harp & 'gaelic' lettering of the company acronym. Prior to completion of the design the client provided a family crest image that he asked be used instead. The image was reconstructed from a photograph & adjustments were made at the clients request.

XHTML/CSS Fixed Layout Design
Client had previously the site redesigned but was unhappy with the intricate CMS system inmplemented and overall appearance. He wanted to revert to a slighly modified version of the original site and was searching for an easier way to maintain the 'News' section on the front page.
Working from a screen shot of his old design we came up with a more streamlined version of the original, using the existing colour scheme. Artwork was reconstructed in both Photoshop and Illustrator and the logo modified to reflect the clients current industry associations.
To provide the CMS function required by the client I opted to use Cushy CMS as a lightweight solution for the site.

On top of the standard design and coding requirements, each Web Design Package includes a Custom Graphics Package, which includes a Masthead graphic (simple custom graphic incorporating company logo similar to that on the top-left hand side of this page), a top-of-page graphic for all other pages in your website (if required for the design), coloured lines and bullets, coloured and/or textured backgrounds as well as a Favicon creation of your company logo (or a deviation of).
After the installation of web pages to your web hosting service, you will also receive up to 1 hour general Internet orientation education and Web design consultation, aimed to help you learn to use your own webpage editor (where applicable).

PSD to XHTML/CSS
If you've already got a great design and you want it turned into a Web site I can convert your designs to cross-browser compatible, high quality, valid XHTML/CSS markup. All you need to do is provide the design in a high resolution format (PSD, PNG, AI, JPEG, BMP) and you will receive a coded, W3C compliant Web site in return.
As standard I offer CSS table-less design, javascript integrations, and more. The site you receive will look just like the design you submitted, all html and css will be commented & indented, css class and id names used will be descriptive and the code is tested in all major browsers.

WordPress Setup & Integration
WordPress is perfect if you need your blog styled or if you need a powerful yet easy to use CMS for your site.
You may simply need Wordpress installed on your server and your selected theme setup along with your preferred plugins or if you have a ready theme and would like it customized. This service is charged by the hour, for more complex modification a set fee can be decided.
I offer a high quality PSD to Wordpress coding service, perfect if you have a design you need converted to a usable Wordpress theme. Themes are tested in IE7+, FireFox, Safari and Chrome. Older browsers like IE6 can be included if required and this is calculated at a separate hourly rate. All my Wordpress themes use XHTML/CSS valid markup, table-less CSS, semantic, commented code and if required your theme can be Widget ready.
MySpace Customization
If you don't require a full website, perhaps you should consider the benefits of customising your MySpace Page. Myspace is a valuable tool in terms of marketing. MySpace is no longer just a place for friends but rather a place where you or your company can reach out to a much wider audience.

Cost of Designing Your Website
IMPORTANT! Must read if you need a Website Quote
I will gladly quote you for your website. Please understand that it is very difficult to give you a quote "straight away" or just over the phone unless I have all the relevant information regarding your project in front of me. The quotation request form is designed to give me all available information, so that I can provide you with as accurate a quote as possible. Each project is unique and requires a custom quote.
With that said, to give you an idea, small business projects normally run anywhere from €250 to €1000, so depending on the size of the site and the functionality required by you, your website will most likely fall within that price range.
Web Site Updates
Ad Hoc updates are done at the rate of €36.00 per hour (minimum 1 hour) and are then calculated at 15 minute intervals (or part thereof). I do also offer a choice of 2 low cost pre-paid update packages from just €30 per hour. Pre-paid update packages allow you to buy 3 or more hours of website updates at a discount, in advance.
